Yemen alarm
bells ringing because of water scarcity
Real disaster on the verge of threatening the water security
in Yemen as a result of indifference by the authorities of the settings and the
judiciary, and neglect and the lack of prior water resources, while the cries
of pain and suffering is increasing and the fear of political issues
experienced by Yemen and not touched the competent authorities to resolve the
crisis that almost become global humanitarian problem.
In fact the lack of rivers, lakes and indiscriminate digging
of wells and qat cultivation of is the most important factors which helping to
exacerbate the problem, and most of the water in Yemen - up to 90 percent -
goes to agriculture unfortunately by using the traditional methods, also the lack
of awareness by the citizens to conserve water, which helped the problem to
spread the the disease among the Yemeni people, which should accelerate in
finding appropriate solution.
